I just completed a portrait of a beautiful couple, Michael and Hazel, in an impressionist style. It was a very complicated task to paint the portraits, figures, the beautiful white dress in a sunlit green garden.
I was inspired by paintings of famous American artist of the late 19th century John Singer Sargent, the "leading portrait painter of his generation". Most time he painted portraits in the soft light of the interiors, but he also liked to paint figures and portraits outdoors, with warm shadows and bright reflections on the faces and figures.
I was thrilled to have been asked to capture this special moment for this wonderful couple and delighted they liked the end result.
